Why cant i download anything when i am going to install a program?? I try to cannot download anything on windows 10 Spotify and Chrome and many many more but i cant get it to work. The only thing that can connect to the internet is Edge. Windows 10 please helpp!!!!!!!!!!
This is wht happens when i try to install Chrome Which Antivirus utility to do you have installed? Have you tried disabling it temporarily and and see if they work?
What type of Internet connection are you on, wireless or wired? If you are on a wireless connection, try switching to a wired connection and attempt the download. Was this reply helpful? Or you may need to run a system file check. That can be done from the command prompt. If you cant locate it type CMD in the search box. Right click on it and select Run as Admin. I'm adding a response here to help folks who may have run into the problem I was having.
The event log would show that the installer errors out for various but one of the common errors would be or etc I was just living with an older version of iTunes. The problem seemed like some sort of permissions issue but I don't fully understand Window's permissions on the various folders. So searching around I ran into this tool from the www. The program runs a bunch of different Microsoft tools to fix-up your Windows installation and some of these tools take a while to complete.
But one of the areas it "fixes" is to set all the default permissions to the various folders Program Files, Windows, etc I don't know why my system was messed up and can only assume it was the "windows 10 update" that didn't handle things well but the tweaking tool fixed it for me and now I'm able to install all of the problem programs.
The tool is also real good at telling the user and providing an interface to 1 backup their registry, and 2 create a save point in case things go badly. I'm not affiliated with the tweaking folks and I'll point out that the free version of their tool fixed my problem. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.

Hi Mundayk, I apologize that the above steps didn't address the issue. Lets try this method instead to further troubleshoot the issue. In reply to Mundayk's post on June 9, I'm having the same problems but reluctant to try any of the solutions suggested above as the OP has said they do not work.
Please could Microsoft investigate this issue and either fix it or post a test method which will actually fix the bug?
This is required as soon as possible as MS Windows 10 is currently not serving the purpose I purchased it for. Hi Mundayk, Run this command instead. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.
Hi Mundayk, The last method that I can think of to troubleshoot this issue is to perform a Repair Install. Your device will keeps everything including your apps and files when doing this process but still it is better backup the files. You can check this link for the steps on how to do it.
